Company History:

Set up in 1984 and employing a group of ex-chevron employees Motorsport Components has worked on many projects both large and small bringing much experience from Chevron and Maurer racing cars. One of the company’s first big projects was producing parts for both Zakspeeds’ formula one project and Group C/GTP project.

Later in 1986 the company was contracted by Ford to produce a car for the 1987 season of GTP racing named the ‘Ford Mustang GTP’. In a matter of 4 months the carbon fibre cars were designed, developed and ready to race and where competitive through the season until the Roush team withdrew from GTP racing.

One of the remaining cars can be seen running in the classic Group C/GTP events around the U.K and Europe.

After this the company produced many chassis jigs for the likes of the TWR Silk Cut Jaguars and formula one teams Jordan and Benetton. As well as developing and producing parts for the Lotec supercars such as the 1000bhp C1000 and Sirius
